"A TRIBUTE TO A MOTHER LIKE NO OTHER M y mum, my friend, my mentor and biggest fan. It’s been extremely difficult putting together this tribute for someone who means so much to me. Anyone who knows me well enough will know how important my mum is to me. And this is my humble attempt at trying to tell everyone how wonderful she is. A testament to the Grace of the Almighty, she was born as the third daughter of Mrs Osamuren Okoruwe, the second wife of Mr. Okoruwe. In those her early days, my mum learnt the vagaries of human nature. Born with a mind of her own, she was able to observe what was required to make a difference in her life and she started very early to make the changes by hawking items as early as age eight to make money for her mother and herself. That alone would have been enough to tell us who she fundamentally is, however, providence had special plans for her. In the years that followed, she went through some very harrowing experiences. Some of which would have completely in capacitated most people. However, today, she tells stories of all these scary experiences with joy, stating that they all helped shape her into the pillar she is today. Many look to her for guidance and sound council because of her principles and the abilityto turn her obstacles into stepping stones. And I believe, as she stated, that all these occurred because of the early challenges she faced. In terms of our family, from a biological standpoint, my mum, my sister and myself form the Jonah clan, and I’m incredibly privileged to be in their midst as these two women are tenacious and generous to a fault of which I have been a beneficiary to the profits of their goodwill. However, the truth is my mum has so many adopted children that I am unable to identify them all. The goodwill she has imbued in others have drawn so many people to her. There are even instances of her generosity and sincere kindness which she herself is unable to remember as I have witnessed people trying to remind her of how she helped them in their time of need while she gazed at them oblivious of the episode. A faithful servant of God, she was put to the test when bringing my sister and I up. While bringing up two children as a single parent is a huge challenge, she continually credits the dexterity as being due to the Grace of God as we never lacked anything. We clearly saw her efforts and sacrifices and did our best to appreciate her. Today, I have so much to be grateful for as I remember those days in my primary school where you would wake me up before day break to join you in prayers and reading scriptures. I remember how you would ensure that I digested what you were teaching and that I meditated on it. Those were some of my core foundational formative experiences and I will always treasure you for doing that. Exposure to the variety of wonderful experiences the world offers came to me early in life as you took me abroad as early as age four (4) and got me to visit Windsor safari park in the Berkshire, England. Also, at age seven, I remember how big my reading library was, with my frequent visits to the Abiola bookshop to buy fantasy and adventure books. In secondary school you made me a “local champion” with your occasional visits with the coolers of hot pasta and bolognese sauce. When coming into the hostel I’d hear my friends shouting my name as we’d all attack the cooler together. You also made your voice heard during PTA meetings back then, which warmed you into the hearts of many parents as you brought up topics which were not easily perceived. Even, when I felt terribly ill in school, I saw a part of you I had never seen before. Your love and care for me during that time saved my life and it was not from your effort directly. The goodwill you had built over the years paid dividends as people came to empathise with you. I survived that experience by God’s grace, along with my sister’s efforts and your love and sacrifice. I will never forget how even after the challenges we went through in the hospital how you took me to the Cromwell in the UK and King’s College hospital in UK to confirm that all was well with your son. After mentioning all this, there’s still the fact that you were the foremost public issue printer in Nigeria. Such a position is a testament to the standards you set for self as well as the hours of dedication to your craft. I hold my head with pride when I recount the fact that you have been operating your business for almost 50 years in an industry which is extremely thankless and pressure bound. Your standards in the marketplace earned you the name Prompt. Investment houses, Commercial Banks, Government institutions form just a few of the industries you have served in. And you did it all with an unending attitude of prayers, gratitude to God and a signature smile. And then of course as a natural story teller, this would not be complete without mentioning your foray into Literature, publishing and writing over 6 books. In this regard, I know the world is still going to enjoy your experiences and wisdom for years to come and my children will gain a great sense of pride knowing that Granny’s books are instruments of wisdom for theworld over. I’m immensely proud to be your son and grateful for what you have taught me. And I know that at 80 years, your’e just beginning another chapter, and I’m looking forward to what you do next.."

"BIRTHDAY TRIBUTE TO MY DEAR SISTER MS. LUCY JONAHWe Thank God Almighty we are celebrating our elder sister, Ms Lucy Jonah, on her 80th birthday. We the siblings are so blessed for having her as our elder sister. She is just 7 years our senior yet she took care of us like a mother. She supported us through high school. Her place was home to all of us, her siblings. She was instrumental in accessing my federal government scholarship to study medicine. During holidays in the university I used to boast to my mates that I was going for vacation jobs in Lagos in my sister's printing press. What did I know about printing but just to while away and enjoy myself. She used to take us to movies and Chinese restaurants. When I return to campus I will be showing off with what I bought with my vacation allowance. Latest fashion on campus, we were there. In the 1970s life was good in Nigeria. Naira was stronger than dollar. I was a rich student. I was a federal government scholar which she helped me to become. She and my brother, Fred, were also supporting me. God Almighty used these two individuals to bless me. My prayer is that God Almighty will satisfy you with long life in splendid health and abundant wealth. You will be proud and happy with your children wherever they are, in Jesus Name Amen."

"A TRIBUTE TO MY GUARDIAN AT 80.To my guardian, my second mother, and Tmy guardian angel in human form, As you celebrate 80 beautiful years today, I am filled with gratitude, and I honestly struggle to find words that can fully express what you mean to me. You have been much more than a guardian. You have been my guide, my teacher, my protector, and one of the greatest blessings God has placed in my life. From my primary school years through secondary school and all the way to tertiary education, you have stood by me. You have made sacrifices for me, invested in my future, and continued to support me even when it required giving up something of your own. There are decisions I would have made and mistakes I might have walked into if not for your wisdom and guidance. At the time, I may not always have understood your corrections or advice, but today I recognise that many of those moments were acts of love and protection. You saw things I could not see and guided me in directions I would not have found on my own. Your impact is woven into the woman I am becoming. Every lesson, every sacrifice, every correction, every encouragement, and every opportunity you gave me has contributed to my story. And what touches me most is that even after all these years, you are still giving, still caring, still guiding, and still showing up for me. Ma, I want you to know that your sacrifices have not been wasted. Your investment in my life has not been in vain. I carry your love, your lessons, and your influence with me wherever I go. I may never be able to repay everything you have done for me, but I pray that God will reward you abundantly and allow you to enjoy the beautiful fruits of all you have poured into the lives of others. May your 80th year usher you into a season of peace, good health, joy, fulfilment, and well-deserved rest. Happy 80th birthday to my guardian angel in human form. Thank you for raising me. Thank you for guiding me. Thank you for protecting me. Thank you for believing in me. Thank you for sacrificing for me. I love you deeply, Ma, and I am forever grateful that God gave me you. Happy 80th birthday. May your years ahead be filled with the same love and goodness you have poured into others."

"A DISCIPLINED WOMAN, A SELFLESS MOTHER, AND MY ROLE MODELHappy 80th birthday to a mother who has made me feel loved, protected, and guided. I proudly call you my counsellor, and my role model. Today, on behalf of myself and the entire Okafor family, I want to sincerely appreciate you for everything you have done for me. From the day I was baptised and became your goddaughter, you have never stopped showing me love, care, and direction. Your kindness, generosity, and countless sacrifices have touched not only my life but also the lives of many people around you. Even though I did not come into your home at a very early age, the years I have spent with you have been life changing. You taught me valuable lessons about life, both in good times and difficult times. Whenever I was worried, confused, or faced with important decisions, you were always there to counsel me and help me choose the right path. Your discipline has shaped my character, and your selflessness has taught me the true meaning of love and sacrifice. You have inspired me in so many ways and sharpened my way of thinking. I honestly believe that many mistakes in my life were avoided because of your guidance and wisdom. As you celebrate this remarkable milestone of 80 years, my prayer is that God will continue to bless and strengthen you. May He grant you good health, long life, greater wisdom, peace, and abundant joy. May He continue to use you to bless many more lives, just as you have been a blessing to mine. Thank you for being a wonderful mother, a faithful guardian, and an exceptional role model. I celebrate you today and always. Happy 80th Birthday once again, Mum."

"A TRIBUTE TO AN AMAZING WOMAN Ms Lucy Jonah is a friend, a sister and a confidant. She is a close and trusted sister to my family - late Otunba Edward Oladipupo Solanke family. My children relate to her as “mum’s” sister and a close family member. We got to know each other when we were neighbours at Bajulaiye Road flats. When I found out that we were both from the then “BENDEL STATE” I got glued to her having just returned with my family from England in 1984. She became my go to sister for help, a listening ear. At the time Sister Lucy had a son about the same age as my baby girl, both toddlers. Whenever I was going to my numerous night parties with my husband, I had no worries since I had a God sent sister next door to me. All I need to do is knock on her door and drop the baby with her overnight, no appointment booked. The One that left an indelible mark in my memory above everything else was; Ms Lucy sleepless nights looking after two babies. On my return to pick my daughter the next morning, She will strap one child to her back and the other to her front. Till this day, I am forever grateful for being there for me while settling down to life in Lagos, from the UK. On behalf of my family and myself, I say a very happy 80th birthday to a guru in the printing industry- Ms Lucy Jonah, MD Prompt Enterprises Nig. Ltd. I pray God to satisfy you with many! many!! more years of happiness , wealth and above all good health in Jesus mighty name."

"HAPPY 80TH BIRTHDAYI know the honourable madam lucy jonah as Mama Tony and as endearing as that title is, she is so much more than that. Growing up as a young girl in Shomolu, I witnessed a particular kind of matriarchal energy: powerful women who never needed to be loud, because their presence, purpose and intention spoke for them. Mama Tony was the strongest yet subtle presence who till this day emulates the above qualities. I don't think you will ever truly know how much your existence has fed the woman I am today and the woman I continue to aspire to become. May you continue to live a long, healthy and abundant life, in this realm and the next. And may you know that every move you have made has been ordained by the Most High, and its wisdom will be carried forward by those of us blessed enough to have witnessed you. Happy 80th birthday, God bless you."

"TRIBUTE TO OUR OCTOGENARIAN MAMA, MADAM LUCY JONAH ON HER 80TH BIRTHDAY.To God be all glory, to God be all honour, to God be all power forever. Amen. Indeed, we magnify the Lord with you and exalt his name together for the gift of your life, our dear Mama, Lucy. We celebrate you, mother, for in you is the fulfilment of the words of the Psalmist, the length of our days is seventy years or eighty if we are strong. You are not only strong, because God has manifested in you the grace of those who are beyond eighty. Mama Lucy, at your eighty we celebrate your resilience and doggedness; a resolute and meticulous woman you are. We celebrate your integrity and firmness which have made you an icon in the enterprise world even when you never amassed wealth to be numbered among the billionaires of our time. As and achiever, you have made an indelible mark for which your children and those who ever collaborated with you in your Prompt Enterprise would remain ever grateful. Mama, your unwavering Christian faith, and devotion are deeply inspiring. You have always faced every challenge in life with courage and determination, meeting every trial with heroic faith. As a woman endowed with the gift of faith, you have walked with the Lord for these eighty years constantly in quest of deeper relationship with Christ. Utmost in your heart is God’s love and love of your neighbour, taking the word of God as a lamp for your feet, and a light to your path (Psalm 119:105). You never failed to counsel and inspire both old and young to always put their trust in the Lord Jesus. Your respect, regard and care for the clergy and the religious of the Church of God irrespective of age is humbling. We Dominicans, especially those of us whoever worked in St Dominic Parish, Yaba, Lagos would bear witness to this. In your unassuming and docile character, you despise no one. Only those who encountered you personally would appreciate the depth of your spiritual life and your unshakable faith. With your resources, you serve the Church and your communities generously and selflessly. All these you do quietly without attracting any attention or trumpeting them because you believe that God who sees what is done in secret would reward you. In your generosity and kindness, you are always ready to give your time, your love, and your resources freely. You welcome all people warmly and offer your gentle word of wisdom and consolation to those who need it. You share what you have with those in need just as you never stopped encouraging many people and empowering them to actualize their potentials as you did from your own early age. As you celebrate these glorious eighty years of your life on earth, your legacy of faith, hope and love stays alive in the hearts of all who ever encountered you. For this and for what your entire life means to us all, you are much appreciated. For you and with you we praise and glorify the Lord God. May you enjoy the blessings of old age in good health of mind and body. May God grant you perseverance in faith till the end. Amen. Happy birthday, Mama."

"MADAM LUCY JONAH AT 80: I THANK GOD, I THANK YOU TOO.Long before now, I had looked forward to This Day, 16th September 2026; your Eightieth(80th) Birthday with great expectations. It's not because I was going to do anything extraordinary. Rather, it's because I wanted to reiterate and highlight what you already know by both faith and experience; namely: "the Lord our God is the giver and protector of life"(Cf. Ps. 54:4; Ps.103: 1-3). This truth is both renewed and affirmed in your experience and survival of several health challenges over the years. - I therefore thank God with you and for you; for His generous grace, mercy and favours upon you which enabled you to arrive the "eight floor of life" at eighty(80) years, the age reserved for "those who are strong"(Cf. Ps.90:10). - I thank you for remaining focused and firm in faith - believing God despite odds, in hope - expectant of His loving mercy and in charity - persevering in good works despite personal challenges all these years. - I thank your family members, friends and well-wishers whose enduring goodwill of love, empathy, spiritual and material supports helped to bring you this far. - I am personally grateful to you for the enormous selfless sacrificial service you rendered to the Church over the years. Worthy of special note in this regard is your exceptional devotion, diligence and decorum with which you serve. This is very evident in your printing services as "Prompt Enterprises Nigeria Ltd(Printers & Publishers) at "next-tonothing" costs; especially during my pastoral leadership of St. Dominic's Church, Yaba, Lagos(15th June, 2001 - 17th January, 2010). Many parishioners were highly enthused by the volume of catechetical and educational materials published during the period; so much that they nick-named me "publisher". But, little did they recognize and commend you, the "hand behind the wheels" making things happen in printing and publishing within short timelines. May the good Lord never forget you. Amen. As you begin to advance into the "evening of life's journey"; looking back to the long distance already covered, while anticipating a joyful safe and smooth arrival at the Lord's bossom, I graciously impart the biblical priestly blessing upon you(Cf. Num. 6: 22 - 27): - May the Lord bless you and take care of you: Amen. - May the Lord be kind to you and gracious to you: Amen. - May the Lord look on you with favour and give you peace: Amen. - And may the Almighty God bless you: in the Name of the Father and of the Son + and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.

"TRIBUTE TO A REMARKABLE WOMAN @ 80Before i met madam lucy jonah i had heard of her. My friend, no brother, Mr. Emma Esinnah, had mentioned her name to me. He said many wonderful things about her. My wife also said good things about her. My wife had read one of her books about her life. It was a no-holds-bar account of her life. Her company, Prompt Enterprises, was one of the vendors of Fidelity Bank. My company was also a vendor of Fidelity Bank. It was only a matter of time before I met her. During the Fidelity Bank's initial public offer (IPO), the bank invited all its printing and branding vendors for a meeting. She has been in the business long before me. Esinnah had also mentioned my name to her. She's also a Catholic and knew my eldest brother, Rev. Fr. Anthony Ewherido (now Bi shop Anthony Ewherido of Warri Diocese).Being more experienced in the business, she gave me business tips without hesitation, including ways to meet impossible deadlines and reduce cost while maintaining quality. From our first meeting in 2004 till date, she shows her character of being nice, straightforward and a desire to uplift others. She has a mindset set of live and let's live, Madam Jonah's looks below her age. I was shocked when she told me her age the first time. A down-to-earth person. She has airs and relates with me as if I am her age mate, the 20 year s age difference notwithstanding. She's a naturally supportive person. When I told her I had an insurance brokerage company, she transferred her insurance businesses to my company. Ma, I celebrate you at 80. I wish you many more fruitful years in good health of mind, and body. Happy 80th birthday, Madam Lucy Jonah."

"HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO AN ICON, A MENTOR, A MOTHER, AND AN EXTRAORDINARY WOMAN.In 2005 i visisted the Bendictine Monastery in Ewu, Edo State, on a retreat. Little did I know that what began as a spiritual retreat would become the beginning of one of the most significant journeys of my life. As a young university graduate at the time, I was quietly looking out for a job although, of course, finding employment was certainly not the purpose of the retreat! It was during that visit HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO AN ICON, A MENTOR, A MOTHER, AND AN EXTRAORDINARY WOMAN By Emmanuel Omisegba that I encountered Ms. Lucy Jonah, an accomplished entrepreneur with a thriving business. What began as an employeremployee relationship soon became something much deeper and more meaningful. Over time, I ceased to see her merely as my employer; I became a son, and she became a remarkable mother, mentor, teacher, and role model. Looking back over the years, I can confidently say that some of the discipline and values I carry today were shaped by the influence of this extraordinary woman. Her doggedness, resilience, discipline, attention to detail, generosity, and willingness to help others are qualities that have continually inspired me. One thing that has always stood out about Ms. Jonah is her insistence on excellence. She does not simply encourage people to succeed; she pushes them to discover the best version of themselves. She has a remarkable ability to see potential in people, sometimes even before they see it in themselves, and she is never afraid to challenge them to rise to the occasion. To me, Ms. Jonah is an enigma worth studying. I have been privileged to sit at her feet, learn from her experiences, and share in her immense wealth of knowledge and wisdom. There are lessons I learned from her not because she sat me down to teach them, but simply because I watched her live them. Those who know her well will understand why I describe her as someone whose story embodies the phrase “from zero to hero.” Her journey is a testimony to perseverance, courage, hard work, and an unwavering determination to succeed. There are countless things I have admired about her over the years, and even after all this time, I continue to find new reasons to appreciate and celebrate the woman she is. Today, I celebrate not only your birthday, but the remarkable life you have lived, the lives you have touched, the people you have lifted, and the legacy you continue to build. Ma, thank you for the opportunity you gave me many years ago. Thank you for the many years ago. Thank you for the discipline, the lessons, the corrections, the encouragement, the wisdom, and, above all, for opening your heart and making me more than an employee you made me family. As you celebrate another year, may God continue to bless you with good health, abundant grace, renewed strength, peace, joy, and many more beautiful years. May the work of your hands continue to prosper, and may the countless lives you have impacted become a lasting testimony of the goodness of your heart."

"I AM LUCKY TO HAVE KNOWN YOU. Your 80th Birthday reflects eight decades of milestone, 960 months of wisdom and experience. Your life speaks volume of astuteness combine with humility. You have seat reserved for you among the rich, yet you choose to identify with the poor and hungry just to serve humanity. As a prolific Writer, your literary collections are classic. Your autobiography, Ehianuka, is a source of inspiration to many people including myself. As a Business Executive, you pick up the members of your staff as precious stones to transform them into rare gems. As a member of the Catholic Church, masses and church services are never enough. You made it a point of duty for every member of your staff who happened to be catholic to always assemble in your office every 12noon for Angelus, especially during Latin seasons. Words are grossly inadequate to fully capture the depth of your benevolence and magnanimity. You have really brought eight decades of laughter and wisdom to the world as you inspire everyone who crosses paths with you. I am lucky to have known you as I look forward to the memories yet to come. Happy 80th birthday, Mummy!"

"A HEARTFELT TRIBUTE TO MS. LUCY JONAH AT 80. As Ms Lucy Jonah prepares to celebrate her 80th birthday, I feel deeply privileged to join her family, friends, and loved ones in celebrating not just a milestone, but a remarkable life of courage, resilience, faith, integrity, and achievement. Mama Lucy is the beloved mother of my dear classmate and friend, Mrs Princess Ukor Mokolo-Dr.. I have known Dr. Mokolo for more than forty years, since our days as members of the 1990 Computer Science graduating set. Yet, it was not until 2021 that I had the privilege of meeting her beloved mother. My first meeting with Mama Lucy was during a visit with my children, and it remains one I will always cherish. She welcomed us warmly and graciously shared the story of her life—her struggles, sacrifices, challenges, and remarkable triumphs. I was particularly inspired by how she built a highly successful business through determination, hard work, and perseverance. She faced many obstacles, but refused to be defined by them. Instead, she forged her own path and succeeded through courage and an unwavering spirit. Since that first meeting, Mama Lucy and I have remained in regular contact. I was privileged to visit her again this past June with my youngest son. True to form, she was warm, pleasant, and engaging, filling our time with inspiring stories and wisdom from eight decades of life. Reading her autobiography gave me an even deeper appreciation of the remarkable woman she is. Mama Lucy is a woman of strong character, intelligent, courage, benevolence, and unwavering integrity. She is strong-willed y e t k i n d - h e a r t e d , d e t e r m i n e d y e t compassionate, and accomplished yet humble. Above all, she is a deeply devoted lover of God and our Lord Jesus Christ. Her faith has clearly been a source of strength throughout her journey and is reflected in the way she has lived her life and touched the lives of others. At 80, Mama Lucy can look back with gratitude on a life of purpose, perseverance, and meaningful achievement. Her greatest legacy is not only what she built, but the people she has inspired, the family she has raised, and the values she has passed on. To Princess and the entire Jonah family, your mother is truly a gift. Her life is a testimony to what courage, faith, hard work, and perseverance can accomplish. Happy 80th Birthday, Mama Lucy! May God, who has been your strength throughout these eighty years, continue to uphold you, bless you with good health, peace and joy, and surround you with the love of your family and friends in the name of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. Amen. May you enjoy many more beautiful years, and may the legacy of your remarkable life continue to inspire generations to come. Congratulations, Mama Lucy Jonah, on 80 remarkable years!"

"LUCY JONAH AT 80: A LEGACY BUILT TO LAST. "I t is a great honour to pen this tribute in celebration of the 80th birthday anniversary of Madam Lucy Nmawuese Jonah, an extraordinary woman whose name has long preceded her and whose remarkable accomplishments have made her a household name, not only in Ekuku-Agbor but far beyond. Born on 16 September 1946 in Benin City, Nigeria, to Mr. Jonah Okoruwe Obuh and Mrs. Osamurun Jonah Okoruwe, both indigenes of Ekuku-Agbor, Madam Lucy Jonah has spent eight remarkable decades building a legacy defined by enterprise, resilience, faith, service and courage. She is an author, serial entrepreneur, philanthropist, women's rights advocate and lover of Christ; a role model, an Amazon and a trailblazer whose story represents what is possible when vision is matched with determination. For me, however, this celebration is deeply personal. THE UPSTAIRS NEXTTO MYSCHOOL Long before I knew Madam Lucy Jonah personally, I knew her by reputation, and by the remarkable building that stood beside my childhood school. As a JSS 1 student of Ekuku-Agbor Grammar School, our school shared a fence with her residence. At that age, I did not fully understand entrepreneurship or appreciate the significance of what I saw. I simply knew that Madam Lucy Jonah had built a remarkable upstairs. Today, I understand its significance. She was the first woman to build an upstairs in Ekuku-Agbor. That structure was more than a building. It was a statement of vision, courage and possibility. At a time when women were often constrained by social expectations, Madam Lucy Jonah demonstrated that a woman could dream boldly, build substantially and succeed in spaces traditionally dominated by men. The upstairs I admired as a schoolboy was, in retrospect, a physical monument to her entrepreneurial audacity. By Dr Ewere Okonta WHEN LIFE CAME FULLCIRCLE Perhaps the most beautiful part of this story is how life has brought us full circle. The young boy who once looked across the fence at Madam Lucy Jonah's imposing building is today privileged to share a lifelong family relationship with her as an in-law. She is an aunt to my beloved wife, Stella (Obidia). What a remarkable turn of destiny! What I knew first as the name of a highly accomplished woman in my community eventually became the name of Aunty Lucy, a member of my extended family. What a journey! Thus, that is why writing this tribute is not merely an assignment for me. It is a privilege. It is an opportunity to celebrate a woman whose life I have witnessed from different distances and different seasons, first as a child who admired her accomplishments from afar, and now as a family member privileged to share a lifelong relationship with her. Madam Lucy, today I salute you. I salute your enterprise. I salute your resilience. I salute your generosity. I salute your literary contributions. I salute your advocacy for women. I salute your faith. And I salute the indomitable spirit that has carried you through eight remarkable decades. ATRAILBLAZER IN BUSINESS Madam Lucy Jonah's entrepreneurial journey is one of courage and persistence. She ventured into the printing industry at a time when it was largely regarded as a man's domain and built Prompt Enterprises into a r e s p e c t e d p ri n t i n g a n d p u b l i s h i n g establishment. She did not merely enter the industry; she established a presence. Through hard work, continuous learning, resilience and determination, she built an enterprise that became associated with quality and professionalism in Nigeria's printing and publishing space. Her journey demonstrates that successful enterprises are not always born in conditions of abundance not always born in conditions of abundance. Sometimes, they emerge from adversity, resourcefulness and the courage to take the first step. MORE THAN AN ENTREPRENEUR To celebrate Lucy Jonah only as a businesswoman would be to tell an incomplete story. She is also an accomplished author and publisher, using the written word to examine society and address issues affecting individuals, families and communities. Her literary works reflect her keen observations of l ife and her commitment to soc ial consciousness. As a philanthropist and women's rights advocate, she has also demonstrated a commitment to empowering people and promoting the dignity, independence and advancement of women. At the heart of all these accomplishments is a woman whose Christian faith remains an important part of her identity. She is a lover of Christ, and her journey reflects a deep appreciation of God's grace and providence. EIGHTYYEARS OF IMPACT At 80, Madam Lucy Jonah is not merely celebrating longevity; she is celebrating impact. She has built businesses, written books, supported people, advocated for women, inspired younger generations and contributed meaningfully to the development of her community. Her greatest achievement, however, may not be any particular building, business or book. It is the legacy of possibility she has created. She has shown that a woman can lead. That a woman can build. That a woman can succeed. And that adversity does not have to determine destiny. As the people of EkukuAgbor celebrate one of their illustrious daughters, we are reminded that communities are often shaped by individuals who dare to do what others consider impossible. Madam Lucy Jonah is one of such individuals. ALEGACYBEYOND BRICKS AND MORTAR Today, when I remember that upstairs beside Ekuku-Agbor Grammar School, I see it differently. As a child, I saw a building. As an adult, I see a legacy. The building was made of bricks and mortar, but the story behind it was made of vision, sacrifice, courage and perseverance. And that is perhaps the most enduring lesson of Madam Lucy Jonah's life: her greatest building is not the one she constructed with concrete; it is the legacy she has constructed through eight decades of purposeful living. Madam Lucy, on your 80th birthday, I salute your courage, celebrate your accomplishments and honour the remarkable journey that has brought you to this extraordinary milestone. May Almighty God, whom you love and serve, continue to preserve you, strengthen you and grant you sound health, peace, joy and fulfilment. May your latter years be even more rewarding, and may the seeds you have planted continue to flourish across generations. From the JSS 1 student who once admired your upstairs from across the fence of Ekuku-Agbor Grammar School to the man who is now privileged to call you Mummy and in-law, I celebrate you with profound respect and gratitude. Happy 80th Birthday Anniversary, Madam Lucy Nmawuese Jonah. At 80, you are not simply counting years; you are counting lives touched, barriers broken, dreams pursued and a legacy built to last. Congratulations, Mummy Lucy Jonah - the Amazon, trailblazer and illustrious daughter of Ekuku-Agbor."

"TRIBUTE TO MADAM LUCY JONAH @ 80. Happy 80th birthday mummy! You have remained a constant source of joy, wisdom, and laughter in the life of many. You have been a light in so many lives, including me. You have weathered storms that would have stopped most people. "TRIBUTE TO GRANNY ON HER 80TH BIRTHDAY. Granny as we fondly call you. Happy birthday granny! Today, we celebrate a life that has impacted generations — 80 years of love, steadfastness, resilience and patience not forgetting the business side of you that has played positive roles in people’s lives. Life works in mysterious ways because we happen to know you through your daughter. We haven’t been close to you as we are to our aunty, Dr. Princess Ukor Mokolo, your daughter. “Aunty mi” as we fondly call her became the woman our family turned to in one of our most, precious moments. Aunty mi stood by us and supported our family through that journey! It took her kindness and love to see us through the entire process. This kindness and love was first given to her, by her mother, and that is the woman we honour today. So, granny, your birthday is not only about you but also about the legacy you have indeed built. The care and support aunty mi offered our family, carries a piece of granny in it. Granny, you truly may never meet everyone your love has touched through your daughter, but we want you to know that our family is one of them and for that we always remain grateful. Happy birthday Granny as we thank you for the daughter you raised, and for a legacy that reached our family when we needed it at the time. May this new year of yours be filled with the same love you exude as we pray our Almighty God to continue to keep you sound, healthy and safe in all you do through Christ our Lord. Amen."

"TRIBUTE TO Ms LUCY JONAH @80!Mama @80, congratulations, ma. I met mama on a specialised volunteer group with focus on mental health, named Mind and Soul Helpers' Initiative(MASHI). Her very dark skin carried with pride and elegance attracted my attention to her. I was lost in wondering how a lady who grew up in years of bleaching creams and toning could be this confident and proud of her dark skin colour. Upon getting closer for interaction, there was no second-guessing , her hi-i.q (even without clinical assessment) put her at that advantage of hi-self esteem. Another advantage is her ever-willing to learn, unlearn and relearn. Above all, her strong faith plus a very clear belief in God that listens to whispers. Long life mama."

Madam Lucy Jonah at 80 is a masterclass in grace, resilience, beauty and unconditional love.As the mother of my chief bridesmaid, Madam Lucy holds a uniquely special place in my heart. "TRIBUTE ON THE OCTOGENARIAN MILESTONE OF A QUINTESSENTIAL LADY. Madam Lucy Jonah. I feel honored to write this tribute on the octogenarian milestone of a quintessential lady. Sister as "we" fondly call you means different things in various and diverse positive ways to different people. Growing up as a child, I used to see this beautiful lady with a smile all the time, and the embodiment of humility, come to visit my father in the village anytime she comes from the city. However I had direct and close contact with sister when I relocated to Lagos in late 1979. I still remember the warm welcome like yesterday. She told me that I should come over to her Printing press to work and make some money pending when I am able to get situated. I accepted the offer and worked briefly at the press before I moved on. The money I was paid for the brief priod I worked there enabled me to pull through a project that gave me a sound footing in Lagos. Whenever sister is in the USA, she makes it a duty to communicate with my family almost on daily basis. When I got married in the USA, sister was the first elderly member of my family that personally paid me a visit to see my wife and give her blessings. My wife gave birth twice and sister was there on the two occasions with material and monetary gifts. When I was involved in a ghastly car accident that kept me at home for over 2 years, sister was there for me and family. What made this spectacular was that she was in the USA for medical treatment but sister will call every day to check on me, and supported me financially during the period. Imagine abondoning your health to pray for another person's healing. Giving money to someone in America with the exchange rate of naira to dollar. When my mother passed-on in 2022, sister single handedly took care of the posters, invitation cards, brochures and anything that needed to be printed for the burial ceremony. All for free from her. I have given a bit of what I have benefited from my personal relationship with my sister. Sister, you have lived your 80 years touching lives with goodness and love. You have filled your years on earth with so much vibrant life. Your contagious smile brightens a room. You have a legacy of empathy, love and selfless service to humanity. Happy birthday. We wish you more years in good health and sound mind. In Jesus name. Amen and Amen."

"MADAM LUCY JONAH @ 80. CELEBRATING A PHILANTHROPIC OCTOGENARIAN. Some are born great, some achieve greatness, and some have greatness thrust upon them.” Today, we celebrate a remarkable woman whose life is a beautiful tapestry woven with intellect, creativity, enterprise, leadership, motherhood and service to humanity. We celebrate our cerebral octogenarian — the erudite Madam Lucy Jonah. She is a writer. A novelist. An entrepreneur. A mother. A grandmother. A leader. A pioneer. An uncommon philanthropist. And above all, she is a woman whose life has been marked by compassion and an enduring commitment to the welfare of others. In early 2008 when Rev. Fr. MaryVin Ubili (as he then was), St. Dominic Catholic Church made a call for people to come together to serve God in feeding the poor and hungry, she heeded that call with joy. She did not merely applaud the vision from a distance; she stepped forward to serve. In April of same year Fr. Ubili established and inaugurated a Ministry called Lazarus Food Ministry (LAZFOM) dedicated to feeding the poor and hungry. She became the Pioneer President of LAZFOM taking on the responsibility of leading an initiative whose mission was to put food on the tables of those who needed it most. That pioneering role speaks volumes about the woman we celebrate today. It speaks of her willingness to serve, her courage to lead, and her compassion for the vulnerable. The maiden food was prepared in her house. When we had a challenge with transporting the food to our clients, Madam Lucy Jonah gave us her bus to use to convey the food to our clients. This made the work a lot easier. At 80, Madam Jonah stands as a testament to a life of purpose, impact and service.

A testimony of a woman who has written, created, led, nurtured, served and inspired. Today, we celebrate the writer and novelist. We celebrate the entrepreneur. We celebrate the mother and grandmother. We celebrate the Pioneer President of LAZFOM. We celebrate the Matron Emeritus. But most importantly, we celebrate Madam Lucy Jonah — the woman with uncommon humility behind all these accomplishments. As you victoriously step into this remarkable new decade, may the years ahead be filled with renewed strength, abundant joy, sound health, peace and the deep satisfaction of seeing the seeds you have planted continue to flourish. May God continue to bless you, preserve you, uphold you and surround you with love. Happy 80th Birthday, Dearest Matron Emeritus! Eighty years of grace. Eighty years of wisdom. "Tribute to Madam Lucy Jonah at 80 Celebrating a Woman of Strength, Faith and GraceToday, as Madam Lucy Jonah celebrates the remarkable milestone of 80 years, I join her family, friends, colleagues, and well-wishers in giving thanks to God for the gift of her life and for the blessing she has been to so many people. My encounter with Madam Lucy began in a rather simple way. I came to know her in the course of engaging her printing services for a job where I was working. What started as a professional interaction gradually became a relationship in which our paths continued to cross over the years. In those encounters, I came to appreciate the remarkable woman behind the work—a woman of determination, diligence, discipline, and deep faith.Madam Lucy is, without doubt, a hard-working and determined woman. She is not one to shy away from responsibility or allow challenges to define her. Rather, she approaches life with courage, perseverance, and a quiet strength that commands respect. Her commitment to whatever she sets her hands to do is truly admirable.Beyond her strength and industrious nature, what makes Madam Lucy particularly special is her deep and practical Catholic faith. She is not merely a Christian by profession; her spirituality is evident in the way she carries herself, relates with others, and approaches life. Her faith has been a source of strength and inspiration, and she stands as an example of how devotion to God can shape a life of purpose, integrity, and service. At 80, Madam Lucy represents a beautiful testimony of grace, resilience, hard work, and unwavering faith. Her journey reminds us that a meaningful life is not measured only by years lived, but by the lives touched, the values upheld, and the example left behind. Madam Lucy, on this special occasion, I celebrate you with genuine admiration and affection. I thank God for preserving you through eight wonderful decades and for the privilege of having crossed paths with you. May the years ahead be filled with abundant health, peace, joy, renewed strength, and the continued warmth of family and friends.May the Blessed Virgin Mary continue to intercede for you, and may Almighty God reward your years of faith, labour, and goodness with many more beautiful years. Madam is one of our pioneer client and has been faithful to all the terms of engagement. When we took over from a colleague of mine and a friend, Madam asked whether we will be reasonable in all ramifications. The outgoing auditor said we will do more than him and we have been with madam over twenty years of good professional service. Madam is hardworking, very reliable, honest and prayerful. She is an author of several books that touched lives and awaken sound religions upbringing.
