Empowerment for All

God’s empowerment should be for all.

When God empowers us, it’s not just for our sake; He gives us empowerment so that we can work for Him.

You may ask, how do we work for God? This is a relevant question because it is God who supplies all our needs. What work do we then do for God, the Creator of heaven and earth and all that is seen and unseen? In the book of Matthew 25:35-40, Jesus said, “I was hungry and you fed me, thirsty and you gave me a drink…”

God’s supply in the whole world is more than sufficient for all His children, but some of those He empowers are led by greed and avarice to squander and stash away what is meant for all. In a country like Nigeria, where the minimum wage is less than a hundred dollars per month, we hear of people stashing away millions and sometimes billions of dollars either in foreign banks, in their homes, or even having them buried in the ground.

Those who are blessed by God are supposed to be like pipes through which blessings flow to others, but many of them are so driven by greed and avarice that they squander the wealth with recklessness and stash away what they cannot squander. They store away the common wealth of the masses for their fifth to tenth generations without giving any thought to the plight of the teeming poor and the underprivileged who are sometimes their neighbors.

While providing for their unborn generations, they leave the present masses in abject poverty. If God has empowered you, either through honest hard work or through a privileged position, just remember that “God doesn’t empower people to do their own things; He empowers them to do things for Him, and those are the things that matter.” May Almighty God heal our political leaders, civil servants, captains of industries, and all those who use their positions to marginalize the masses. Father God, kindly heal all these people of greed and avarice and reveal to them that You empower them to empower others in Jesus’ name, I pray.
