AUTHOBIOGRAPHY

Lucy Nmawuese Jonah was Born in Benin City on the 16th of September 1946 to Mr Jonah Okoruwe Obuh, a native of Ekuku Agbor in Ika South local government area of Delta State and Mrs Osamurun Jonah Okoruwe. I was the fourth daughter of a polygamous home. We were a total of eight children from two mothers made up four males, my three sisters and I.

I was a chatty child and a keen observer of people, places and situations. I was gifted with the ability to see and observe what other people might not notice or see.  This innate ability could not be put into productive use early in my life because of the oddities I encountered on my journey through life.

My formal education ended in Secondary Modern Three but I went ahead to acquire GCE O/A level and other professional certification through private studies.  I was privileged to work in a company that sponsored me for series of trainings and courses ranging from effective communication to different aspects of production, finance and other related management studies.

I rose through the ranks to senior managerial position and at one time was the chairperson of the management board of the company that employed 600 people.

I was forced to leave paid employment in July 1977 as a result of ill health. My struggles to survive after leaving employment without any benefits led me to starting up as a freelance printer until I was able to obtain a loan from a bank to buy my first printing machine  in March 1978.

My first book entitled CHOICE was published in the year 2000. I followed up with the THE TRIAL OF SIN which I kept in the closet for many years. My breakthrough in writing did not come until the year 2006 when people like professor Ralph. Akinfeleye of the University of Lagos and Dr Reuben Abati of the Guardian Newspapers read the scripts and encouraged me to go ahead and publish it.

My good friend Dr Promise Ogorchukwu of Oracle books published the book which was launched to mark my 60th birthday.

Encouraged by the circulation of the book and the testimonies of the ways it touched people’s lives— lifting the fallen to their feet, I became emboldened to write more books.

To mark my 70th birthday, I launched four novels—THE TRIAL OF SIN which I dusted up and reviewed, SHROUDED SECRETS, THE POT AND THE TRIPOD and WHEN MEN WERE GODS.  One or two other books are in the final stages of publication and they will be available to the reading public before the end of 2022.

I am the proprietor of Prompt Enterprises Nigeria Limited, a front line printing press. I am a mother, a grandmother and a great grandmother.
